Sareen today…
Sareen is a bicoastal performer classically trained in ballet. In pursuit of growth as an artist — and to finally let her voice out — Sareen dove into theatre in 2018 where she booked the first Broadway Tour she auditioned for, Anastasia, as a swing, and spent a year and a half on the road performing all over the US and Canada. Sareen previously danced with The Sarasota Ballet, where she performed classical and contemporary ballets by choreographers like Jerome Robbins, George Balanchine and Sir Frederick Ashton.
Ballet has given her a strong work ethic (and a swing brain!), as well as the ability to let her body and instincts guide her choices on stage and on screen.
In LA, Sareen most recently played the role of Lise in Jeffry Denman’s production of An American in Paris at Musical Theatre West in Long Beach, CA. She also danced in Melissa Barak’s world premiere of Memoryhouse, a full length contemporary ballet commemorating the Holocaust in abstract vignettes presented by The Broad Stage in Santa Monica.
Sareen has acted in and produced multiple short films and keeps up with acting classes to further her craft.
During the pandemic she completed her Bachelor’s degree through the LEAP Program at St. Mary’s College, and focused her efforts on strength training and learning the new skill of aerial straps where she created and performed a piece that combined the art form with ballet.
Sareen grew up in Southern California and is a first-generation Armenian-American.
